Find me on:

Part of what makes Sullivan such a unique place is our people, so we'd like to introduce you to some of them in a series of posts. We asked associates around the firm why they chose Sullivan and what their experiences have been like since joining us.

Lee

Emily Lee represents both public and private clients in a range of corporate matters and financing transactions. She also represents public companies in securities law compliance, general disclosure and periodic reporting and governance matters. Prior to joining Sullivan, Emily worked as the Assistant Chief of Registration, Inspections, Compliance and Examinations at the Massachusetts Securities Division.

Why did you choose Sullivan?

I chose Sullivan because of the people. It was clear to me prior to joining Sullivan that the partners and associates work in a supportive, collaborative environment in which people value one another’s input. In addition, it was clear to me that if I joined Sullivan I would be working with extremely intelligent attorneys on complex matters. That combination was very attractive because it presents junior attorneys with exciting opportunities in an environment where asking questions and learning is supported.

Has your experience been what you expected?

My experience at Sullivan has been extremely positive. I have been able to work on a variety of matters with a variety of partners, which has helped me recognize how I would like to navigate my practice moving forward.

What makes Sullivan different from other firms?

Sullivan has helped me grow as an attorney at a pace I do not believe I would have experienced elsewhere. I get to learn directly from partners and am trusted to take the lead on my own projects. I think this is a unique experience that some of my colleagues at other law firms do not have.

What have you been working on lately?

I work on a wide range of matters within the Corporate department, all of which have been interesting and challenging in their own way. What I have really enjoyed is that Sullivan works with many clients that are focused on responsible investing. It is great working with, and representing, clients aiming to have a positive impact on the environment, in the medical field, and in their communities.
